PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
✓ Manage the treasury back office function which include the following:
o Verification, Settlement and confirmation of Front Office commodity, foreign exchange and money market transactions.
o Ownership transfers: Metal transfers in SAP
o Confirmation of ownership loco Germiston to depositing customers and banks
o International Shipments of gold and silver products
o Local dispatches of gold and silver via the Jewelry office.
✓ Ensure compliance to the principles of the Agency model with all trading activities and within the risk parameters of the company
✓ The focus of this role is to give provide guidance and leadership to the back office team to ensure that all functions are executed efficiently and timeously.
✓ Manage the implementation and maintenance of internal controls, policies and procedures to minimise operational risk for the department.
✓ Maintain and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
✓ Ensure timeous reporting to external and external stakeholders.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
✓ Preference will be given to a candidate in possession of a completed tertiary qualification (degree, diploma or national certificate) in Accounting or Finance/Commerce.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
✓ Excellent proficiency with computer (SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
✓ Be a confident communicator to key stakeholders both internal and external.
✓ Be the main point of contact when interacting with banks, SARB, SARS etc.
✓ Collect, analyse and translate data into easy-to-understand format to help with problem solving and decision making across the business.
✓ Management skills to assist team to reach potential.
✓ Focus on results through quality and safety awareness, managing work, planning and organising, decision making and customer focus.
✓ Express potential through adaptability, applied learning, initiating action, innovation, impact and work standards.
✓ Interact effectively through communication at all levels, building relationships, negotiation and gaining commitment.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
✓ Preference will be given to a candidate that has 10 years’ experience within a Treasury and financial environment.
✓ Ensure timeous reporting to external and external stakeholders.
✓ Additional experience and qualifications above the minimum requirements will be to the applicant’s advantage.

PLANNING AND OPERATIONS
✓ Management of Back Office: key performance areas of subordinates.
✓ Audit findings
✓ Missing of deadlines with potential cost implications.
✓ Loss of opportunities to recover costs.
✓ Vendor reconciliations.
✓ Participate in the reconciliation of variances between ownership and physical stock.
✓ Optimization and improvement of business processes.
✓ Accurate, timely and quality reporting.
✓ Ensure compliance to policies and procedures as it relates to the Treasury function.

EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT AND LEASE RATE OPTIMISATION
✓ Maintain and build relationships with SARB, SARS, STATSA, SADPMR and other external stakeholders.
✓ Maintain and build relationships with depositing customers.
✓ Ensure controlled dealings with customers whilst retaining flexibility and good customer relationships being minimising customer complaints and loss of customers.

GOVERNANCE AND RISK
✓ Comply with all the Rand Refinery Corporate Governance guidelines.
✓ Proper management and control of the treasury back office function including identifying operational risks.
✓ Review and update Risk register on a regular basis to avoid unintended exposure.
✓ Manage the cost budget of the Treasury back office.
✓ Audit findings
✓ Fines/loss of licence to operate if non- adherence to statutory controls.
✓ Technological improvements in the way treasury works, less dependence on human intervention and reduction in human errors.

LEADERSHIP AND ORGANISATIONAL CULTURE
✓ Ensure appropriate development plans are in place for each employee.
✓ Ensure regular review of performance with appropriate steps to manage good and poor performers.
✓ Promote and cultivate the Rand Refinery culture.
✓ Ensure the retention of star performers.
