The Association of Corporate Treasurers of Southern Africa (ACTSA) in association with Full Value Financial Services invites you to attend a Technical Analysis Workshop that will enable you to foster an appreciation for market analysis techniques as well as to create the ability to effectively understand and evaluate technical analysis reports. The course is designed to equip attendees with a basic understanding of technical and fundamental analysis and successfully apply the learned techniques.

The fundamental analysis module gives a conceptual overview and covers the important components necessary to perform fundamental analysis. Attendees will be able to use the content as a knowledge base to better understand and evaluate analysis reports.

Course Content

·         Basic Tenets and Comparison to Fundamental Analysis

A thorough study of the relevant techniques used in technical forecasting is a prerequisite for the effective application.

·         Human Behaviour- Why Technical Analysis is Effective

The supporting rationale of technical analysis is compared to fundamental analysis as in introduction to the complementary potential of charting.

·         Building Blocks of Technical Analysis

Chart types – The concept of trend
Support, resistance and trend lines
Different moving averages and uses
Oscillators
Introduction to Fibonacci ratios

·         Chart formations

Reversal patterns
Continuation patterns
Other short term patterns

·         Combining Analysis Techniques Optimally

Correctly combining the various technical tools in an optimal decision making structure via practical examples

·         Basic introduction to:

Elliot Wave analysis
Fibonacci ratios

Participants of the Technical Analysis course will be awarded FPI 4 CPD points.
